Nutrition counseling services are often used to help a patient manage a new or existing illness through proper nutrition and portion education. This service is available to both inpatients and outpatients.

Hospital patients with diabetes can also benefit from the services of Kendra Hedrick, a registered dietician, who is also a nationally certified diabetes educator.

Kendra works with patients at the hospital and clinic to help them better self-manage their diabetes and avoid or minimize its many complications. With Kendra’s help both newly diagnosed and established diabetic patients learn how to read their glucose meters, understand their blood sugar numbers, make good food choices and embrace other techniques to help them better self-manage their condition.
